Two courts at the Hacienda Pinilla Tennis Center, and thirty-five years of teaching behind the instruction. Small by design — eight players is the cap on every trip, scheduled or custom.
Four courts in Tamarindo, three of them covered, ten minutes from the resort. The fastest growing racquet sport in the world, and no one else on this coast is coaching it.

Bill lives here year-round. He isn't flown in for your week.
Villas inside the community, chosen for the size of the group and the sport you're here for. Open to the air on three sides, a pool you'll actually use at the end of a court day, a gym and sauna for the mornings your legs need convincing, and enough room that twelve people aren't living on top of each other.
This is one of the houses. Pricing is based on double occupancy.
In every sport. That's the work we do.
Between them, CourtEdge's coaches bring over 55 years of combined experience, at every level, including one who competed at the top before turning to teaching. Playing a sport and coaching it are different crafts. The best players move on instinct. Coaching is the ability to see how someone else moves, and build their game around it.
We don't hand you a technique and force your body into it. We watch how you play, find what already works, and sharpen it, teaching you to win with position, timing, and court sense rather than raw speed.
You don't need to move like a twenty-year-old. We show you how to see what you've got, and make it better, on the courts in Costa Rica.
Everyone starts playing for the same reason — fun, social time, being outside with people you like. Then it's human nature to want to get better. A college basketball coach once said "better is better," and that's true at every level. I don't measure a student against anyone else. Be the best version of you, and only you can define what that looks like.
Former Director of Racquet Sports at his home club, former Head Pro at the Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel Tennis Club, and a board member of the Georgian Triangle Pickleball Club. He's competed in the Open division in pickleball, though these days he gets more out of watching a student improve than he ever got from his own results.
He has also played and competed in squash, badminton, hockey, skiing, golf, soccer, baseball, volleyball and road cycling, and holds coaching certifications inside and outside racquet sports.
In every sport, even the ones he doesn't play, Bill studies it. That's where the coaching comes from.
Nationally ranked as a player and an All-American at Clemson. A USPTA seminar speaker and Director of the Miami Shores Tennis Club. He teaches pickleball and padel alongside Bill.

Our first retreats run this season, so these are coaching testimonials rather than trip reviews — which is the part we'd want you to judge us on anyway.
I recently took a clinic from a top 10 PPA Pro (6+ DUPR). I was very excited to be participating. What he spoke about and demonstrated were skills that Bill had already addressed with me. This was a pleasant surprise and I couldn't wait to tell him when we had our next session.
I cannot recommend Bill Dennis highly enough as a Pickleball coach! My journey with him began quite serendipitously in Costa Rica, and it has transformed my approach to the game… It's as if he has become a part of my Costa Rican experience, and his presence makes every trip special.
I have had the pleasure of working with Bill Dennis off and on for two years at Club El Dorado… Bill makes every lesson enjoyable. With an upbeat positive attitude, he provides encouragement and great feedback to promote growth in your personal skills.
Over the last two years he has completely transformed my pickleball game — from strategy and court positioning to stance and serving — all while keeping lessons fun, energetic and full of memorable ‘Bill-isms’ like ‘keep your sword up.’…
Three words describe Bill's style of coaching. Patient, Knowledgeable, and individualized Coaching. After experiencing many many different Pickleball Coaches and Clinics, I was very frustrated with continuing to look for a coach that would progress my game…
Howie O is the real deal. With more than 50 years of experience across tennis and pickleball, he brings a depth of knowledge that few coaches can match. What impressed me most is how he runs a group session: he builds each one so that every player on the court, from beginner to advanced, walks away with something meaningful and is having a lot of fun. That's a rare skill. Whether you're looking to improve your game or build a thriving racquet sports program, Howie is the person I'd call.
Howie O is an exceptional coach who brings genuine care and professionalism to his adult programs at Miami Shores Tennis Club. He has a talent for breaking down the technical elements of the game, making it easy to understand and driving measurable improvement for players of all levels. Beyond the top-tier instruction, I've really appreciated the welcoming community environment he's fostered for our family. You can feel his decades of experience in every clinic.
